WISH GRANTED – Former Foster Child & Honor Roll Student/Role Model Gets to Live Out His Dream – MASON IS GOING TO WASHIGTON!

Dear Bianca’s Kids:

[My son] Mason was nominated by his teacher to attend the Junior National Young Leader’s Confernece in Washington D.C. in June 2022. This conference recognizes students for their academic achievements as well as their demonstrated leadership qualities. Mason will have the opportunity to team with other students from around the nation to participate in simulations, tours of the capital, and other activities to help him grow his leadership skills. He will also participate in the Voices for Change Project in which he will work with other students to identify an issue that affects communities and work on a project to address that issue that he can bring home to his community and school. Mason is very honored by the invitation and acceptance to attend. As a single mother working a low income job, this is a large expenditure for my family. Our family has had many challenges over the years. Mason is a former foster youth and was raised for two years by his grandparents while I recovered from addiction. I am grateful for 8 years clean and sober. Mason has also overcome the challenges of his early childhood. He is an Honor Roll student, a role model on his school campus, a Solid Black Belt in Tae Kwon Do, and plays competitive soccer for a newly established Bronze club team. Mason has worked hard to get a partial scholarship for his tuition, asked for family donations, and reached out for local sponsorship. We are still in need of additional funds to assist in getting to Washington D.C. and I am heartbroken at the prospect of not being able to help him fulfill this dream and the possibility of him missing such a unique opportunity. Anything would help us towards this goal. He currently owes a remaining tuition balance of $550, his plane ticket needs to be reimbursed for $400, and he requires some money while he is there to cover miscellaneous expenses.

I appreciate any consideration of assistance.

Love,

Jessica

Jessica, Mason is such a hard worker. He has achieved so much at his young age. This opportunity is a once in a lifetime and your economic struggles should not prohibit this beautiful boy from experiencing this opportunity. That being said, Bianca’s Kids is granting Mason’s wish by paying the balance owed on His trip tuition, we are paying for his airline tickets and we are gifting Mason an additional $400.00 in spending money to take on the trip with him.  He & you have overcome so much. You both deserve this blessing.

Have fun Mason. Collect those leadership skills as we have no doubt you will be a very successful adult & cherished member of your community.

Congrats kiddo! Take lots of pics.
