We received a wish from The Division of Children & Families (DYFS) of Camden County. Camden is one of the most impoverished cities in America. The DYFS Resource Manager reached our to us for help. She indicated that with the sky rocketing price of food these days, more and more kids are coming to her office hungry and without money to buy food.
DYFS wished for some Shoprite gift cards to hand out to such foster kids/teens. To that end, we donated $2,000.00 in Shoprite gift cards to the Camden DYFS office so caseworkers have them on hand & can hand them out to any child or teen who presents hungry.
Foster children have always been a top priority for us. Thinking about any child going hungry in this country is hard to understand but it is very real.
