Jernica is one of those extraordinary moms. When her 9 yr old daughter Jewlica was 2 yrs old, she drowned in a hotel pool leaving her with a traumatic brain injury. Jewlica has Cerebral Palsy, frequent fevers & visits to the hospital. She is nonverbal and unable to walk. Needless to say, this one child of Jernica’s alone requires 24/7 care. On top of caring for her special needs child, Jernica has 5 more kids (D’Angelo 18, Devin 16, Kyheem 12, Bless’n, and Lryic).
Since her daughters accident, Jernica dedicates her life volunteering to raise awareness for youth trauma-based injury education. In short, the woman is a giver and a tireless gift to her community.
Jernica’s friend Alex from The Camden County Support Organization nominated Jernica for our 10th anniversary car giveaway. She explained that her friend was so worthy a break in life and she needed a car desperately. We changed that and Jernica’s life today. There couldn’t be a more worthy recipient.
